Evenson's Grove

Looking for a picturesque, intimate, but accessible location for your wedding ceremony? Want a place where family members will talk about the reunion spot for years to come? How about a workshop or corporate retreat that attendees will remember for its ideal location?

If you answered yes to any of these questions

We invite you to consider Evenson’s Grove. Located 12 miles from Meeker, Colorado, this property, along the White River, has been family owned since 1945. Eagles, deer, owls, foxes, and turkeys are known to frequent the area. Cottonwoods and willows grace the property, while manicured lawns, overlooking the calm waters of the White River offer the perfect backdrop for a special day no matter the venue planned.

For couples, whether their theme is stylish, rustic, elegant, or a traditional ceremony, this location offers the space and location to make their day special and memorable. If they decide to have a sunrise ceremony or a sunset ceremony amongst the magnificent trees along the riverside, this location offers many options.

Imagine your special occasion in a natural setting, as opposed to a banquet hall.  This space allows kids of all ages to run in fresh air or throw a frisbee while the food is being spread out on the tables and everyone continues to arrive. Lawn chairs can be placed under the trees and on the lush lawn as everyone catches up on “family news.”

Envision a company or church picnic, all day workshops or retreat surrounded by century old trees, the trickling flow of the river, a serene landscape where your attendees can focus on what you have to say and relax without the distraction of cars rushing by and the flicker of a computer screen. Blankets can be thrown on the grass, fresh air breathed deeply, and the backdrop of a serene environment can invigorate even the most tired souls.

The 2 ½ acre grove has a designated parking area and a 25 x 40 pavilion.  This pavilion has eight 20-amp electrical outlets with their own separate breakers. If needed, there are ten 2 x 8 folding tables, 60 folding chairs, four 55-gallon trash cans, trash dumpster, 2 porta potties, and a fire pit. The pit may be used, with your own wood, if there is no fire ban.

As this is a natural environment and we must protect our wildlife, only bird seed may be thrown after the ceremony, no rice. No confetti of any kind may be used and if flower petals are used during the ceremony, they must be real, no artificial flowers of any kind.

While this is an all-outdoor venue with no lodging or restaurants available, guests can find them nearby. Dry camping is allowed in designated areas on the property, but there is no electricity, no water, and no sewer hookup for campers. Accommodations in the town of Meeker include hotels and motels, restaurants, and a grocery store. There is no fishing allowed at the Evenson’s Grove. Guests can go to Lake Avery up the road to fish. Miller Creek offers trails for Off Highway Vehicle (OHV).

The family opens the location the first weekend in June and closes in early October.
